"Four Women" (Poesie/Spoken word)


"A night of rich, deep, intriguing poetry coming from four women poets, who all have a distinctive voice that will take the listener on an individual journey of sights, colours, sounds and textures. This bilingual programme will no doubt be a pleasure for the senses."

Maroula Blades (ENG) is an Afro-British writer living in Berlin. Verbrecher Verlag and Cornelsen Verlag have published her short stories. She has received awards for poetry. Poems have been published in Germany and abroad. Maroula was awarded the runner's up prize for the GC Chapbook 2008. And was the featured poet in the Erbacce 16 2009. Her Poetry/Music Programme has already been presented on several stages in Berlin: Berlin Poetry Festival 2008, the Planetarium am Insulaner, IFA, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Humboldt University, Friends Of Italian Opera, and Volksbühne to name but a few.
Svetlana Jovanovic (USA ) is a multidisciplinary artist with over twenty years experience on stage in the USA, Europe & Japan in numerous stage productions in Musical Theatre, Plays, & Live Music, to writing, producing and performing her own works.
She has a B.A. degree in Experimental Performance & Social Activism from the Experimental Performance Institute in San Francisco, where she discovered video production as a performance tool. Currently, her time is spent teaching Acting & Solo Performance. She was performing in Play2c's production of Edward Albee's play "The Goat" at English Theatre Berlin in fall 2009.
Olumide Popoola (Nig/Ger), in London lebende Dichterin, Autorin und Performerin liest und performt ihre Werke international. Ihre Gedichte, Essays und Kurzprosa wurden in Zeitschriften und Anthologien veröffentlicht, 2004 wurde sie mit dem May-Ayim Award in der Kategorie Poesie ausgezeichnet. Im Herbst 2009 beendete sie ihr MA Studium (kreatives Schreiben) an der University of East London mit einer experiementellen Novelle.
Lara-Sophie Milagro (Afro-Ger), geboren in Berlin, studierte Schauspiel am Goldsmith's College in London /UK, sowie Opern-Gesang an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin und ist gegenwärtig Master Studentin der Theaterwissenschaften an der FU Berlin. Lara-Sophie lebt und arbeitet als Sängerin, Schauspielerin und Autorin in Berlin. Sie hat u.a. Beiträge für den rbb produziert und im Magazin "Neon" publiziert. Seit 2008 ist Lara-Sophie als künstlerische Leiterin, Schauspielerin und Autorin für das afro-deutsche Theater-Ensemble "Label Noir Berlin" tätig.
